This is a restaurant concept project to show a potential client in the hospitality industry what I am capable of designing for them. The business name is fictitious and Llorem Ipsum placeholder text was used throughout the website to conceptualize the content.

Create a website inspired from a handful of Five-star restaurants to come up with a clean and modern design. I focused on functionality and made sure the site displayed beautifully on tablets and mobile devices. With over 60% of searches being done on mobile devices, it is imperative that a designer ensures the website adapts and all the information transfers to a smaller screen size.

OVERVIEW

Candy is a successful 10 year Superintendant for a San Diego County school district. She is a frequent speaker at various national events, and is well known throughout the country as a leader in public education. She is also the lead for the national Aspiring Superintendents Academy for Female Leaders.

Candy wanted a one-page layout with a custom font to use for the titles of each section. She also wanted a Blog page that she can update periodically to keep her followers informed and up to date on what she is working on. One of the challenges with this design was trying to blend a modern design within a highly traditional industry.

Aerial and Drone Photography

OVERVIEW

Austin is a freelance photographer based in Orange County, CA. He holds an FAA-license, which allows him to fly unmanned aircraft (drones). Austin has been photographing clients for over five years and his business is growing, so he wants to expand his online presence.

Austin wanted a very minimal design and a platform to display some of his work. He didn’t want a lot of text and wanted to focus on highlighting some of his favorite photographic categories. To keep with a minimal design, I designed a custom off-canvas menu navigation, which is triggered by a hamburger icon. I also optimized every image using a combination of Photoshop and TinyPNG. The client wanted a light grey background for his entire website, so I did that globally. If he ever decides to add more pages, the color scheme will carry over.
